Cagey Opening Half

The first half was a tightly contested battle between two talented sides. LAFC controlled much of the possession early while Toluca stayed compact defensively and searched for chances on the counterattack.

Denis Bouanga and Heung-Min Son both created dangerous moments in the attacking third, but Toluca’s defense managed to keep the match scoreless heading into halftime. On the other end, Hugo Lloris came up with important saves to keep LAFC level.
