Saturday night’s matchup between LAFC and San Diego FC at Snapdragon Stadium delivered drama, intensity, and a thrilling late comeback as both sides played to a 2-2 draw.
San Diego appeared headed toward a statement victory after building a two-goal lead, but LAFC responded late with two crucial goals to steal a point on the road in dramatic fashion.

San Diego Starts Strong
The home side came out aggressive from the opening whistle and quickly put pressure on LAFC’s defense. Their attacking energy paid off early when Marcus Ingvartsen found the back of the net to give San Diego FC a deserved first-half lead.
LAFC struggled to settle into the game offensively and found it difficult to create dangerous opportunities during the opening 45 minutes. San Diego controlled possession well and forced LAFC into uncomfortable positions throughout the half.

Ingvartsen Doubles the Lead
Early in the second half, San Diego continued to push forward and looked confident in attack. Ingvartsen struck once again in the 71st minute, scoring his second goal of the night to extend the lead to 2-0.
At that point, the expansion side looked in full control as the Snapdragon Stadium crowd erupted believing a major result was within reach.

Bouanga Ignites the Comeback
With time running out, Denis Bouanga stepped up once again for the Black & Gold. In the 82nd minute, the star forward calmly finished LAFC’s first shot on target of the night to cut the deficit to 2-1.
The goal completely shifted the momentum of the match. Suddenly LAFC looked alive while San Diego began dropping deeper trying to protect the lead.
Bouanga’s goal gave LAFC belief heading into stoppage time as they pushed numbers forward searching for an equalizer.
Hollingshead’s Dramatic Equalizer
Deep into stoppage time, LAFC found the moment they were searching for.
Following a chaotic sequence inside the penalty area after a corner kick, Ryan Hollingshead reacted quickest and fired the ball into the net in the 104th minute to complete the incredible comeback.
The late equalizer silenced the home crowd and rescued a valuable point for LAFC in dramatic fashion.
