Tight First Half Between Two Organized Teams

The opening half saw both teams trying to settle into the game while looking for opportunities to break forward. LAFC controlled more of the possession and attempted to build their attacks through the midfield, while Dallas focused on staying compact and striking on the counter.

LAFC created a few promising chances but struggled to find the final touch in front of goal. Dallas also had moments where they threatened the LAFC defense, forcing goalkeeper Hugo Lloris to stay alert.

On the other end, Dallas goalkeeper Michael Collodi produced several solid saves to keep the match level. After an evenly contested 45 minutes, the teams went into halftime with the score still tied at 0–0.

Martínez Breaks the Deadlock

The breakthrough came early in the second half thanks to a brilliant individual moment from David Martínez. In the 55th minute, the young forward found space outside the penalty area and fired a powerful shot that beat Collodi and hit the back of the net.

The goal gave LAFC a 1–0 lead and energized the home crowd, while also forcing Dallas to push forward in search of a response.

Dallas Increase the Pressure Late

Following the goal, FC Dallas became more aggressive in attack and started committing more players forward. Their efforts created a few dangerous moments late in the match, especially through striker Petar Musa.

However, LAFC’s defensive line stayed organized and limited clear scoring chances. Lloris also stepped up when needed, making an important late save to preserve the lead.
