LAFC Shuts Out New York Red Bulls in 2-0 Victory

LOS ANGELES — Los Angeles Football Club came away with a convincing 2–0 victory over the New York Red Bulls on Wednesday night at BMO Stadium.
LAFC controlled much of the match from the opening whistle, combining steady possession with strong defensive organization. The result gave the Black & Gold another important win as the regular season enters its final stretch.

Terry Opens the Scoring
LAFC broke through in the 21st minute through Jude Terry.
The goal came after Yevhen Cheberko won possession on the left side and found Son Heung-min. Son created space and forced New York goalkeeper Ethan Horvath to make a save.
Terry reacted quickly to the rebound, collecting the loose ball near the edge of the penalty area before firing it into the net to give LAFC a 1–0 lead.

Son nearly doubled LAFC's advantage in the 78th minute when he got a left-footed shot away from close range. The effort beat the goalkeeper but struck the crossbar, keeping New York within reach.

Sieb Seals the Victory
LAFC finally found its second goal deep into stoppage time.
In the sixth minute of added time, Cheberko and Ryan Hollingshead combined to break through the New York defense. Hollingshead then found Armindo Sieb near the top of the box.
Sieb took one touch before firing a left-footed shot past Horvath to make it 2–0.
The goal was especially memorable for Sieb, marking his first goal in an LAFC shirt.
Another Clean Sheet
While the goals earned the headlines, LAFC's defensive performance was just as important.
