In another classic chapter of the Los Angeles rivalry, the LA Galaxy and LAFC played to a dramatic 2-2 draw on Sunday night at Dignity Health Sports Park. FIRST HALF: REUS OPENS, BOUANGA RESPONDS
The Galaxy struck first in the 6th minute. Gabriel Pec made a dangerous run down the left flank, cutting inside and forcing a save from Hugo Lloris. The ball fell right to Marco Reus at the top of the box, and the German veteran calmly buried the rebound into the bottom corner.

But LAFC responded just seven minutes later. After regaining control of midfield, Timothy Tillman laid the ball off to Denis Bouanga, who let fly from nearly 30 yards. The rocket soared past Galaxy keeper John McCarthy, clipping the inside of the post for a highlight-reel goal to level the score at 1-1.

Bouanga’s goal was his seventh of the season and his fifth straight game with a goal contribution, solidifying his status as LAFC’s most lethal weapon.

SECOND HALF: ORDAZ PUTS LAFC AHEAD
After halftime, LAFC came out sharper and more aggressive. In the 50th minute, Ryan Hollingshead drove down the right wing and slipped a well-weighted pass into the path of Nathan Ordaz. The young striker took one touch and calmly slotted the ball past McCarthy with his left foot to make it 2-1.
It was Ordaz’s second goal in his last three matches, showing growth and maturity in his expanded role for the Black and Gold. With LAFC in control, they nearly extended the lead through Bouanga, but McCarthy came up big with a pair of late saves.

FINAL MINUTES: REUS STUNNER EQUALIZES LATE
As the clock ticked into the final five minutes, the Galaxy won a free kick just outside the box after a foul on Diego Fagundez. Up stepped Reus, and with a veteran’s composure, he bent a perfect free kick over the wall and into the top corner — no chance for Lloris.
The goal sent the home fans into a frenzy and earned Reus his first MLS brace, a performance that later earned him MLS Player of the Week for Matchday 14.
The final whistle blew shortly after, ending one of the most entertaining El Tráfico matches in recent memory.
